Personal first aid kit AI-2

It was developed as a standard first aid tool for law enforcement agencies and civil defense forces in the USSR. In conditions of a total military conflict with the use of weapons of mass destruction, it was to be distributed to the civilian population in areas close to the affected areas.

It looks like a bright orange plastic box measuring 9 cm × 10 cm × 2 cm with the inscription

" Individual first aid kit ", a cross in a circle and protrusions for holding. Inside there are several cells for cases with medicines.

Originally the set would have contained the following:

Antibacterial agent No. 2 ( sulfadimethoxine 0.2 g) - 1 elongated unpainted tube for 15 tablets;
Radioprotective agent No. 2 ( potassium iodide 0.125 g) - 1 white tube with 10 tablets;
Antiemetic agent ( etaperazine 0.006 g) - 1 blue tube with 5 tablets;
Antibacterial agent No. 1 ( chlortetracycline 0.006 g) - 2 unpainted tubes with square bodies for 5 tablets each;
Radioprotective agent No. 1 ( cystamine 0.2 g) - 2 raspberry-colored tubes with 6 tablets each.
Previously, the composition included the drug Taren , which contained the substance aprofen  - an antidote to organophosphorus compounds .

The first aid kits provided to government employees additionally contained 2 syringe tubes:

The white syringe contained promedol , a narcotic opioid analgesic ;
The red syringe tube contained afin  , an antidote used in cases of exposure to organophosphorus poisoning agents .
